DVD to AVI and MPEG4
HandBrake is a software very easy to encode DVDs and play them on his "portable" video.
HandBrake new version (0.9.5) now offers a true center of encoding in a nice interface. The software is no longer content to rip DVD, it can now accept any video source to encode it in a format of your choice. The DVD rip is still there, but it relies on VLC (which must be installed) for better performance. HandBrake offers essentially manages the Divx, Xvid, OGM, 3ivx, etc.. This latest version is supposed to greatly improve the quality of H.264 encoding. Free and Open Source GPL, an almost indispensable toolkit his Mac.
